Light colored toes adorned with black soles moved slowly along the dry and barren ground. A burnt auburn form, though still muscular and powerful, seeped into the area in caution. It was a lioness. A pridlander and she was in a place of taboo to most her kin.
Ah.. But here was a place she'd never fear to tred. A place she came to usually at night, alone. Here she met him. Just a rogue that noone cared about. Dirty and scraggly was his body. It was here that love began to bloom.
Him....
Her love...
It was she who chose him to stand beside her at Pride Rock...
Ahadi...
The female moved deeper into the rocky area. Tears stinging her eyes as it came into view. A broken and tattered tree only a few meeters from a large, steep cliff. Amazingly some hoof indents still remaind. This was where she lost them. What cruel fate steals those so inocent? What fould tradgety had been planned in the souls of the mad?
Them...
The strong, red maned King...
Mufasa...
The little cub who wanted nothing but to be his father...
Simba...
Shakeing the thoughts away, she pessed on. Looking at the tree only brought a sorrow she tried to hide. A sorrow only she would ever truly know about. Looking back at the cliff... became a mistake. That strange feeling enveloping her being. As if the Great Kings themselved tormented her for what she had become.
Who was she anymore? The daughter of Mohatu? No... That Uru died when Ahadi forced her to raise Taka alone. Was she Queen? No... That Uru died when Ahadi succumbed to his illness. Mate to Ahadi? No longer... With Faraja's birth... That Uru ceased to exist. Had she no place left in this world?
The Great Kings taunt her with suspicions of Taka, yet how could she feel this? Taka loved Mufasa... Right? Loved little Simba... And sure.. Taka wanted to show Ahadi that he was capable of being king like Mufasa.... He would never... Kill Mufasa... It was an accident... The stampede.. The wildebeest... It couldn't be Taka!
Sighing, Uru moved her ageing body onward. Ahh... a new spot in her Gorge timeline. Ironically.. It was here he found her. Where he took her, with little protest from herself. The one who gave her something she had again yearned for long after Ahadi's death.
Snother Rogue. One of the nastier brutes. He had no care for Uru.. For what he would create... He cared not if he hurt her or went against her will. He'd be gone by daybrake the next day. Not that Uru resisted much.. She had wanted them after all...
A tiny cub nipped at the black tassal of the ess. Bringing her back to the present. Today was a day of reflection it seemed. Ah.. but no time to reminisc now. Uru had to teach her three cubs about this gorge's significance. Why they must never come here without her or one of the Rock Stayers. Why it was dangerous.
Sadly... The whole world was dangerous for them. Evben more as they grew. Now.. they were too big to be hidden saftely at Pride Rock. Taka would find them... Uru knew her son wouldn't hurt her.. but his reaction to a new litter of half siblings when he so despised Faraja? One of which was a male? She'd rather not risk it.
Sarabi knew about these cubs and Uru knew they'd be safe with her. She's the only lioness who still looks at her with accepting eyes. The others shun her and disregard her. Unfortunately.. Faraja too knew about the cubs...
While she was no threat... the male rogue that still lurked about knew too. Her rogue encounters seemed to not end well... so why should he be any different? Most Rogues would kill cubs... they are a threat...
