Pride History


The Outsiders used to live in a beautiful kingdom known as the Eastlands. Their vicious Queen was born and raised a princess, and under the royal family the pride flourished. When Zira was approaching adult hood, her father was brutally murdered by a band of three brothers. These rogue's were looking for a pride to take over and the Eastlands was their target. The largest and most impressive male was named Kwaku. He named himself King of the pride and went about murdering all of the cubs that were not yet teenagers. Zira and her pride had to stand back and watch as their young siblings, offspring, and baby cousins were destroyed by these new rulers.

After all the young cubs were killed, Kwaku exiled all of the males including the teenagers. Soon all that was left were the lionesses and the teenaged females. Within a few weeks most of the lionesses went into heat, and the three brothers mated with all of them. Kwaku took Zira as his Queen, against her will of course, and she too became pregnant with his offspring.

One would think once the conquest was over and the pride submissive the males would relax. Well not these brothers, they were cruel and had hard hearts. They would randomly harass the lionesses and would sometimes viciously attack them. As a whole the pride lived in fear of these males, and stuck together more than before.

Months later all of the pregnant females gave birth around the same time. Including the Queen herself. Any cubs that were found unfit or unworthy were killed by Kwaku. He did not want any weak cubs tainting his line. Zira birthed two cubs during this first pregnancy a male cub named Tau and a female named Uke. Sadly Tau was born sickly and soon drew his father's attention. One evening he approached his resting Queen and cuffed her away from the two tiny newborns. With a growl the large lion ended Tau's life, Zira in her maternal rage flung herself onto the King.

They fought but she was quickly put into her place, with a torn ear as a memory of this night. From that moment on she vowed revenge on her King, and tried her best to raise Uke.

The princess grew up without the knowledge that she ever had a brother. She became a mommy's girl and normally stuck close to Zira and the other lionesses, her father often gave her the creeps. However, the violence never truly ceased entirely. The King was always mad at someone and her mother took the brunt of his abuse. It took some time but eventually Zira decided to leave the Eastlands all together. She called a Pride meeting and told the lionesses about her idea. Some disagreed with her plan and left the meeting to return to the safety of their home. As for the rest they decided to go with Zira into lands unknown.

They left that night, and never looked back. The pride suffered many casualities along the way. Hyena's trailed them constantly and often tried to kill cubs when the sun set. A few lionesses also died along the way leaving a few cubs without mothers to raise them. Eventually, they found the Outlands. Without a resident pride Zira quickly went about claiming it for her pride.

A few weeks have passed and life is slowly returning to normal. Some of the lionesses wish to have more cubs, and the pride is hoping for some rogue's to wander through. Zira herself as her eyes set on the Pridelands, their neighbors. For she heard rumors of a prince that had yet to secure a mate. Perhaps he'd be interested in one such as her.
