Name;; Acantha
Gender;; Female
Species;; Lion
Age;; Teenager
Pride;; Wandering Pride
Pride Rank;; Heiress
Appearance;; (See picture above)
If one were to try and describe Acantha’s physical appearance, it wouldn’t be that difficult. The colors of her pelt can be explained in simple terms, a happy medium in between the rusty brown coloration of the typical outlander lion, and the bright tan/orange of a typical Pridelander. Her body is built strongly, and as she ages will develop thick muscles from hunting. Her dark pointed nose, and darker coloration that fully surrounds her eyes are all typical outlandish traits, again, her genetics seemingly balancing themselves out. Even for a lioness, Acantha is rather short, but her small size does not contribute to the fact that she will, some day, be perfectly capable of taking down fully grown male lions by herself.
Personality;; While not technically a ‘princess’ as some might say, Acantha still holds a higher position in her pride than many others. Therefore, her personality will of course reflect this. She expects others to respect her presence, even if they haven’t come to speak with her specifically. For very particular reasons, she will more often than not refuse to interact with members of her family, or her pride, unless it cannot be avoided. Otherwise though, it is less likely she’ll simply ignore you. She’s definitely not someone looked over easily, as she walks with her head high at all times. Acantha surely is one with a dominant presence.
Likes;; Stalking prey(just scaring the crap out of things really), meeting lions outside of her pride, napping
Dislikes;; Most members of her pride, arrogant males, Rain, and hyenas(it’s more of a fear)
History;; Being born into a pride where the first little of cubs was the most important, Acantha’s parents had high expectations from the start. For a leader who did not have a son in his first litter of royal children was seen as inadequate. She was the only female cub out of four in total, and was the first to be born. Due to birth complications, and being the first born, the others suffocated in the womb, leaving her the only to survive. In a litter filled with other males, she wouldn’t have been noticed much at all… but now as the sole first child of the leaders of her Pride, she’s given quite a lot of attention. Not the good kind, but attention one-the-less. The pride shaman gave a warning to Acantha’s parents that she would one day be their downfall if she were allowed to lead any great number of lions. Which, naturally, sent the pride into a little frenzy. The majority of them do not trust, and want nothing to do with, her what-so-ever. As a very spiritual pride, they see her as an omen of death, and therefore do not welcome her with open arms.
Though, in more recent times, Acantha has been undergoing training from a rogue male that happened to stumble upon their previous home in the desert, near the jungle. While her father was successful at running him away from the pride multiple times, Acantha continually saw him to learn how to, in his words, ‘properly use her killing instincts’. unfortunately for her pride members, this thus far three month long training has been working very nicely. Her hunting skills becoming adept long before she should have even been taught to hunt in the first place. Now however, her pride is moving towards the pride lands. They know better than to enter another territory, and want nothing to do with the area other than to live off of it for a short while, before they move on once more. Acantha has other plans.
