Hahahahahha.. Shenzi cackled in a slightly demonic fashion, her brown-grey face distorting into her chuckle. Her eyes widened as she looked around the area, her moist ebony nose scented out what or who had been here recently. Dissapointingly, she couldn't pick up much, Aww, poor things, to scarred from that Mufasa's tragic.. accident. she thought cruelly to herself. Shenzi wasn't afraid of being here, the promise of the recent death still seemed to linger nearby, and this pleased Shenzi greatly. Mufasa had been in her way, had stood in the rising of her and her hyena clan. Shenzi would not allow anyone to stand in the way of her family. They deserved greatness, and right now, Scar was the lion who could provide this for them. Not like that ponce of a king, Mufasa. He had banished them, forbidden them from the pridelands luscious grasses and caracasses. Life had been tough, not anymore, Shenzi was free to roam the pridelands, to steal away the kill of a poor lioness. Yes, things were certainly looking up.

Being forced from the pride’s den had done a lot of things to young Kula. She had gone through a severe bout of depression but had eventually come out of it. The caramel painted lioness was now more independent then ever, and the way she moved showed that confidence. However, she still enjoyed the time she spent with her mother and other family members, and she loved them very deeply. As time went on however, the pain of Simba’s death became less and less with each sunrise, and life continued as it always had before. Though she knew that her cousin Nala was not faring so well without the young prince around, and so she tried her hardest to make sure that she was somewhat happy. Today however the cub had ventured into unknown territory, she had only been here once before—and that was for a funeral. Her ears twitched nervously as she descended the cliff face, small pebbles rolling down with each step she took.
Why was she here? Kula really didn’t know what had lead her here, but she wasn’t about to turn around and go home. There wasn’t a lot to do today anyway.. Most of the other cubs were still asleep or were spending time with their moms. She sighed gently, eyes roaming the cavern walls in a absent nervous manner. This place reminded her of death, and faint scent of it still lingered in the air around her. It seemed to choke her up a bit, and the cub stopped to cough. Slinking around a small boulder she started to climb on it when she heard the familiar laughter of a hyena.
Cringing in fear the young cub flattened herself to the ground beneath her, claws unsheathed as she tried to blend in with the shadows. Every encounter she had with a hyena had ended badly so far, why would this one be any different. Though she never seen this female hyena before. Kula still cringed away from her.

Shenzi's keen nose was quick to pick up on the sudden appearance of the lion cub, and her facial features twisted into an easy, familiar smirk. Coming out to play? the questioning, threatening tone slipped easily though her vocals, and she moved back, clircling almost, her head was low, ebony nose only mere inches from the dusty ground below, her tattered, almost mane carelessly swayed softly as she walked. Her shoulders arched above her, but her powerful legs bought her brown-grey physique forwards in a manner that screamed dominace and demanded respect. From the corner of her eye, she spyed the cub. She could outrun a young cub, easily. There was no need to rush this delightful.. game. The matriarch gave no hints away that she new the cubs position, simply sat down where she stood, looking directly ahead, the pridelander youngster only a metre to her left. An unfriendly smirk still etched on her maw, her yellowing canines pulling back at her jet black gums. Come on out precious, Shenzi wont harm you, young one...

Inwardly the young cub cursed her bad luck, knowing that avoiding this hyena was no easy task. As the hyena spoke she cringed a bit and tried to hide herself better, unsure as to whether exposing herself was a good idea at this point. However, remaining in this position until the larger predator grew bored could take a long time. Sucking in a deep breath the caramel painted cub stood up and climbed up onto the rock she was hiding behind a few seconds ago. Kula did her best to look unafraid but she knew the smell of fear was washing off of her in waves. For now she kept her claws completely sheathed, not wanting the hyena to take them as a threat–no matter how small the threat might be. Curling her tail delicately around her paws she watched the large predator with a large amount of interest.
“Most hyena’s do hurt lion cubs. That’s why a lot of my friends have gone missing in the night. They become bait for you guys..”
She stated softly, her golden brown eyes remaining on the hyena. How she wished that Chumvi was here.. He’d know what to do. Kula glanced around absently, her body seeming to shake once in awhile as she felt a strong surge of fear. Then it went away, but always managed to come back. For now she could only hope that the hyena did not want her for lunch, and that someone else would happen by and save her from this nightmare.
