Kalani sighed, bored. This was nothing new; the little lioness was very easily bored. She sniffled, her pink nose making a little “ahchew.” Then returned her attention to the watering hole. It had looked so much bigger not a month earlier. She slowly dipped her head to the water, taking very slow, deliberate gulps. The cool water was like magic on her burning thought. “Ahh.” She said out loud to herself. Things had been good. There was food, there was water, and she was happy. Sure, the king had died. Which was a terrible tragedy, but it was just his time. She did take note however, that the new king was a bit moody, and had some crazy ideas. But change is change. Another gulp of water, and she gracefully raised her head, surveying her surroundings. She could have sworn that this place was supposed to have more animals than it did around it. All she saw was a few zebras, and a giraffe. Oh well, she thought to herself with another sigh. She lay down, suddenly hungry, but feeling to lazy to hunt. It had been a hot day. And for some reason, she found there to be less and less prey. So, instead, she simply lay there; her head still at attention, surveying her surroundings.

Kumi walked around, trying to avoid Scar, seeming he became an outcast as soon as he took charge. The wind was light, the sky clear. What a nice day for it to be the rainy season, he couldn't not get out in this kind of weather. His tail was raised high as he flicked it lightly, standing tall and proud. What an ego on this one, eh. Mid day, the best time to take a swim and sun bath a little bit. Maybe clean his already well kept fur. Kumi could be called a high class Guido if you will. He has his tanned color fur, always has to keep his body toned, and the it's all about the hair. Or mane in this instince. The main signs for a top notch duece. His large paws treaded over the grass, his ears flickering lightly to the small sounds from the few zebra. He slung his hair over to the side, it landing neatly over his cheeck and out of his face. The lion soon reached the watering hole, his eyes tracing around it. It suddenly stopped at the site of a little lioness. She was about his age, a little younger, but she was nice looking. His band had finally started to form out, now it huge over his eyes. Everyonce and awhile it got on his nerves but he tried his best as he walked up to the lioness. Smiling his little crocked smirk, he whistled at her. "I do have to ask my self why I don't know you yet. I usually now most of the chicks here. Now what's your name doll."

Her eyes had glazed over with thoughts; Kalani must have been lying there, staring into space for at least a half hour. Day dreaming was her third favorite pastime behind hunting and sleeping. She enjoyed the peace that had settled strangely over this usually busy place. But suddenly, the quiet was shattered by a whistle and the sight of some cocky guy. Great, she thought, least now I won’t be bored. She swiveled her head to meet him, still not bothering to get up. His comment didn’t really bother her all that much. But she didn’t really know weather to take being called a doll as a compliment, or an insult. Either way, she wasn’t completely comfortable with a complete stranger calling her by a name like this. Then again, just about everyone in the pride was a complete stranger to her. She had managed to avoid contact from most of the members of the strange pride for her rather lengthy stay. “You must not be as good at what you do as you thought then.” She replied to his statement. “Either that, or you’re off your game.” She giggled her little, playful laugh. “And my name certainly isn’t ‘doll’ if that’s what you’re asking. But maybe if you ask nicely, and you’re a good boy, I’ll tell you my name.”

The male shook his head as he laughed, this should be fun. Kumi was up for a challenge today, let's just hope this one isn't that stubburn. Everyonce and awhile he'd get slapped or yeld at. He really didn't see why, so what if he was a little bit of a jerk. He just didn't see the concept of treating women right, that topic was a little out of reach. His ears flickered as he stepped forward, a flirtly grin on his face. "Ouch, that stung a little, but trust me Kumi is never off of his game. Your giving me less credit, it takes some work to stay a class ten stud ya know," the winked his left eye at her and chuckled. "My name is Kumi if you didn't catch it before. I guess I'll just have to guess your name then, it's not that nice to not annouce yourself sweetheart. It's either your name or a pet name. Pick your choice, either way is fine with me." Kumi, swayed over to the water's edge, stepping into the unbroken surface. The nice cool water felt good running through his fur. Slowly he swam to the surface, his wet coal bang fell into his eyes. Water droplets rolling through the strains and then returning to the pool. The fit male suddenly did a hair flip, trying to get it out of his face. In the process water was sprayed over to Kalani. He bit his lip, trying not to laugh, that would just throw him off the game. "I'm sorry about that." His little smirk quivered as he chuckled under his breath.

Kalani couldn’t help but giggle. It was just too funny to see this brute of a male talking in third person; next she had almost expected him to say ‘me hungry, me eat.’ But obviously, he didn’t. “Well, maybe you should take some effort out of your excuses and put some into what you actually do.” She laughed jokingly at his first statement, ignoring the wink. Though below, she was already beginning to get a bit annoyed. But his second statement bit deeper. Pet-name? She thought angrily, I’d sooner chew my tail off. But she played off calm, hoping for the possibility of a real conversation. “if you must know, my name is Kalani,” she sighed quietly, now slowly lowering her head to rest on the cool rocks; all the while, not taking her eyes off this lion who called himself Kumi. Taking in what she saw for the first time; a big, brutish male, around her age maybe, with his mane getting there… and spots. She had to retain herself from giggling at this. She could never recall seeing a lion with spots. She bit her lip and tried to push it out of her mind. Today had been her do nothing day. She really didn’t like do nothing days, they were boring; but she still had them. She snapped back out of her thoughts as the male suddenly got in the water, then out again. “Well that was a short swim.” She remarked, only to be greeted with a torrent of water flying from the brute’s mane. She squinted, and shivered, as water hit her pristine, dry, coat. She stood up immediately out of surprise, the cold water working its way through her warm fur. Then smirked, she loved water. And if that’s what this sarcastic male wanted to play with, she knew how to play along. With an almost of evil smile, she walked with her feminine charm over to the watering hole and lowered her head for a drink. But instead, she swiped her paw through the water, sending water right at his face. “sorry.” She replied dumbly, mocking him.

The boy smiled at her, amused by her shock. Yet the little fea had a strang look on her face. His eyes tightened as he watched her from the coner of his eye. His feiry orbs blazing with curisoty, his ears flickered as she made her way over to the water's edge. Out of his suprise the female splashed water in his face, once again causing his mane to fall into his face. His lips parted in the corner as he growled, not in angry but in something else. Chuckling, he climbed out of the water, giving a quick shake to his fur. "I see, so that's how you want to play it, huh." Slowly he walked along the side, his paw slapping water into her face as well. Kumi laughed with amusement and he pranced over to the rocks. With one quick spring he was on top. His fur was starting to clumb together as it dried. He rain his pink tonge over his shoulders and down his leg. Trying to get it back to it's old state. "So, Kalani, pretty name. Now how long have you lived in the pridelands?"
