Silently the lone figure walked the familiar corridors of the elephant graveyard, his outward appearance was calm but inside he was a wreck. The constant internal conflict waged on inside, and it felt like a never ending problem for the lion. His emerald eyes glistened as he moved along in silence, even the annoying hyena weren’t around to bug him. At this moment in time he wanted nothing more than company from someone. Someone that wouldn’t judge him for his mental state and past deeds. Scar exhaled slowly through his nostrils, his body weaving between the rocks and jagged cliffs as he continued his search for something. Or rather someone. Even though he had just started his reign a week before, the urge to find a mate was compelling him. To be a proper leader he needed a beautiful lioness by his side, and cubs to pass on his legacy too. Without either of those things he was the King of nothing. From what he could tell most of the lionesses were un-interested in becoming his mate..which made his search even harder. Though he reminded himself that if worse came to worse he could always force Sarabi to be his Queen. The pride respected her a great deal if she stood by his side, things would be secure.
However he hated the idea. She loved his brother and always would love him. There was no room for him in her bleeding heart. Could he blame her though? It was entirely his fault the majestic Queen had lost everything she held dear to her heart. Of course the pride did not know the entire truth about the death of Mufasa and his son. They thought it was a mere tragic accident when in reality it was a murder. Scar continued to walk his mind a million miles away from where he now moved.
After what felt like forever the new King leapt up onto a shelf and laid down. His tail smacked off the dark rocks in an absent motion. Annoyed by his own loneliness.

A soft sigh rang out from the Queen's maw as she slowly walked along. Finally, Zira had aquired some alone time away from her devoting pride. Of course she loved them just as much, but it didn't bode well if you sometimes felt suffocated by them.
Being as young as she was, it was alot to become the Queen of an entire pride. It had put alot of responsibility upon her, and being forced from her homelands didn't help it one little bit. So, of course, she enjoyed the peace and calm of being alone.
The tan lioness walked among the dead foliage with a half smile upon her face. She really did adore this place, what with the skeletons and the britte dead grasses. She closed her eyes as a gentle breeze swirled the misty fog around her body, the chills it sent to her skin. A soft purr rang out and she flashed her eyes open.
A strange and intoxicating scent wooed her coal black, pointed nose. The fur along her spine bristled and her tail whiped about the air behind her. Arching her long neck, she hunted down the delicious scent's source. She quickly located the correct trail and the young queen followed it eagerly.
She suddenly paused, tilting her head to the side. The trail suddenly ended, but as she looked about her, she found no-one. Howcould it be? A low growl sounded in her chest as she felt like she was being watched.
Who's there?

Ever since he had been a mere cub, Scar had enjoyed the darkness of the elephant graveyard. This place held many fond memories for the lion, and so he spent a lot of his free time here. The only true friends he had growing up were the hyena pups, and they never looked at him weird for being around. As he lounged up on his ledge, the newly crowned King suddenly became aware of another lion roaming in his turf. For the moment he remained poised and completely silent, watching the intruder with interest. The figure appeared out of the darkness and he saw that it was a lioness, this only fueled his curiosity. As it appeared the lioness was also seeking him out for whatever reason and appeared confused when his scent trail abruptly disappeared. Her ire amused him and the King moved to sit up on his ledge, looking upon her with those haunting green eyes.
“I’m here lioness. I should ask what you are doing in my territory..”
He spoke quietly his voice a mere whisper that would caress her ears. The male knew he was a charmer, and that was why he had the few cubs that he did. Lionesses couldn’t handle a male that knew how to flirt and romance them. So in the long term he got what he wanted, not that he wanted anything from her. With a soft grunt he slid down the ledge and landed with a graceful jump. Her smell reached him now and he realized that this lioness was not from his pride. That brought some hope into his mind and heart, perhaps he still had a chance at finding a Queen.
Rumors had been spreading around that a pride had located themselves at his borders. He had ignored them for the last few days, but perhaps they would be useful to him after all. These lionesses did not know him, nor would they get weird vibes from him like his birth pride did. A charming smile crossed his handsome face as he stepped out into the eerie light.
“ I am Scar. King of the pridelands, and who might you be?”
Raising a eyebrow he waited for a response, hoping that she would be worth his time.

As the charming voice rang out from the shadows, the lioness narrowed her eyes in suspicion. Her rust coloured eyes swept all around her, trying to locate his silhouette. But the dark king showed himself before she could locate him. Pulling her elegant neck back, she tilted her head and looked him over, rather obnoxiously so.
"Your territory? I heard this was more likely hyena infested lands."
She gave a light snort and looked down her nose at him, that was until his second statement reached her ears. Oh, so this was the king? She circled him slowly, observing everything she could within a few moments.
He wasn't all that bad looking, a little on the lanky side maybe. But that wasn't too hard to fix, just a bit of training would fix that right up. His copper-like pelt was shiny and cleanly kept, his ebony mane silky smooth. When she returned to look at him head on, she found herself looking into those emerald eyes of his.
Hmmmmm, not bad. Not bad at all... of course, he isn't no Ptolomy, but he is a king...
Zira eased herself onto her back haunches, her long, whip-like tail curling around her paws neatly. Flicking her ears forth, she gave another quick look-over before she opened her jaws to reply.
"Greetings, your Majesty. I am Zira, Queen of the East- my own pride."
She kept forgetting that she was nolonger the ruler of the Eastlands. Those damned rouges made sure of that. And since she hadn't the time to speak with her mother on what they should call themselves, she just named them as her pride. Tilting her head to the side slightly, she waited for his counter attack on their conversation.

The two of them had somewhat of a stare down, his eyes silently looking her over. She wasn’t a beautiful lioness at least not in the classic definition of beauty. In his mind however she was quite the stunning figure, and he was intrigued by her. His ears flickered idly as she mentioned that she was in fact a former Queen as well. Scar gave her a slightly crooked smile before he slowly took a seat across from this intimidating lioness. She seemed to be a prideful lioness and that was something he enjoyed. Why would he want to speak with one that was submissive and did everything he desired. He liked a good challenge most of the time. That smile of his grew as he watched her, already enjoying her company.
“This was the hyena’s main strong hold, but they’ve come to be good allies. I’ve let them be free in my lands as long as they do what I need them to..”
Most lions would not be comfortable with having a horde of hyena around, but he never feared them. In fact one of his royal advisors was the ruler of the clan, and one of his closest friends. That and they kept the lioness in check as well as those annoying bastard cubs. He didn’t really hate cubs, but any that reminded him of his dearly departed brother really set him off inside. Rolling his shoulders back a bit he turned his gaze up towards the cloudy night sky. Even the Great Kings would not shine upon his territory.
“Hmm.. You’re a Queen hm? Interesting. I’ve heard rumors that your pride is seeking out a home amongst my lands. Is this true?”
Scar asked her, his head tilting slightly to the side. His smile returning just a bit as he thought of it. If he allowed this pride inside his territory, things would definitely change for the better. It may just make the original lionesses leave.

Are you kidding me? Hyenas free to roam in one's territory? Puh...some king you are.....But then again, one does need his minions....
The muscular lioness thought to herself silently as her rust eyes took him in.She was rather curious as to why he was the current king. Wouldn't the lionesses choose a strong male with good bloodlines? She had heard rumors that her pride had found out. Supposedly, the former king had died rather recently.
Still, this guy may be royal, but could he command a pride properly?
When he spoke of her pride, her ears flicked forth in keen interest. What on earth could he want with her and her family? But of course, he answered her silent questions, then asked one himself.
"Well, we are seeking a new land to call home, but I'm not so certain if this may be the right choice of territory." She stood then, before easing herself in a bow to stretch out her muscular frame, reddish eyes flicking to the corners to glance at him. "Besides, grieving lionesses might not want the company of strangers..."
Correcting her stance, she slowly walked around the immediate area; sniffing this, poking that. Finding a small skull, she sat up onto her hind legs, examining it with her paws. Looking back over her shoulder to the male, she arched a brow curiously.
"Why are you so interested in my pride?"

There was a flash of annoyance that quickly drew across his face, it then disappeared after a short time. He enjoyed having someone to talk with, but not at the expense of feeling like a complete idiot. Exhaling briefly, the King tossed his head towards the sky for a moment. It was a weird attempt at calming himself down, even though it wasn’t so easy. Feeling stupid was one of his pet peeves and surely she would learn not to make him feel that way. Of course the lioness did not do it to be hostile, she did it innocently enough. His eyes narrowed silently as he caught sight of the one blinking star that watched over them. Was it his brother? Was dear Muffy amongst the stars? There was a moment of pain and grief but he swallowed those tender feelings up with a silent toss of his head. His mane fell down around his shoulders, framing his face as he returned his full attention to the lioness before him.
“Well you see, when I was a cub my father had chosen my brother over me. I was always put down and harassed by him. Most of these lionesses don’t see me as a King more of a unsightly ruin.. All thanks to the recessive gene’s that run in my father’s line. Either we’re big brutes or on the petite side like I am.”
Scar figured the female was wondering what this meant exactly. Well, he wanted a pride that would see them as a ruler and not as Taka. Little Taka that couldn’t win his father’s favor. Just thinking of the old bastard made his jaw clench painfully and he closed his eyes for a moment. If he appeared to emotional Zira might think he was truly insane. Gathering up those negative emotions that King gave her a sly smile.
“However that is not the point. You and your family is in need of a home. I can offer that to you and much more should you ally yourself with me. As well as my past, a lot of these lionesses are older females and cannot offer me breeding rights which I need to secure my reign...”
Pausing he stood up and stretched out his tired limbs, a slight shake to his red fur and he waited for some sort of response from the lioness before him. Scar had already decided that if she said no, he would have them all chased off or worse, that depended on his mood. Though on the outside he remained passive if not friendly towards her, but inside he was waiting. Would she side with him or decide to move on. It was entirely in her ball park.

As he told her briefly of his past, Zira grew bored. Turning her face back to the skull, she made the jaws move up and down, mouthing the words Blah blah blah... Growing bored once again, she tossed the skull aside and returned her front paws to the ground.
As he began the second part of his speech, she turned around and walked back to her previous spot and lazily plopped down upon her side. Rusty eyes swept up and down his figure, making no notion to hide her curiosity.
"Hmmmm. I'm not sure if my pride-sisters would like it if I pimped them out to aid a king with his new territory...Nor would my brothers appreciate being run from their family..."
Never able to simply just sit still, she pushed herself into a sitting position and tilted her head to the side as she explored his dark eyes with her own. Curious on his reaction. Could he handle her teasing or would he try to run her off now? She tilted her head to the opposite side and gave a half smile.

The left side of his jaw gave a subtle twitch but other wise he gave no outward reactions to her statement. Silently though he cursed his father and the other Great Kings for his eternal bad luck. Though he figured that most lionesses wouldn’t come crawling to him nor would they beg for him to let them stay. However he would not show her any anger or emotion, to do that was to show weakness and that was something he would not do. Not ever. It wasn’t in his mantra to do such silly things. Besides, if she didn’t want to have a good position in his pride and let her family have peace, then so be it. Their lives were none of his concern anyway, so why should he care about this conversation any further. Scar firmly set his jaw and shook the debris from his mahogany coat, his emerald orbs meeting Zira’s one final time.
“Most lionesses crave a place to call home, and some of them will want cubs at some point. I offered you my lands but if you want to remain homeless and perhaps risk the lives of your family and pride be all means, be my guest.”
He spoke in a slightly more harsh tone, his tail slashing behind him in a firm stroke. With those words he turned and stared to head off towards the deeper part of the elephant graveyard. What he had in mind was easy, make his rounds, and slowly return home to pride rock. By then it would be late night, almost morning, and he could get some much needed shut eye. Scar prided himself on not getting to upset with her. However he tired of her games and decided that if she wanted to stay, she could seek him out and bring up the subject herself.
Otherwise, he had no further interest in her. Though a part of him wished she would’ve at least been somewhat interested. Oh well. He shrugged to himself and continued on his way, not even really bothering to look back at her. The last thing he wanted was to give her some sort of satisfaction.
[ooc: I love the tension and drama between these two. lol]

Zira rolled her eyes and watched him turn away from her. A slight pout played across her lips.
"Touchy are we? Hmm, and I had thought that the rouges had a stick up their ass, but it seems yours is more of a log."
Giggling darkly, she stood slowly and turned to head the way she had come, before calling over her shoulder to the retreating king.
"I'll give you your answer the next time we meet, Scar. I will not make rash decisions for my pride without their word on matter. Till then, Your Majesty."
She slowly walked forth, her ears flung back, wondering if he might give a reply before she moved too far off. She indeed wanted the words of her pride on the matter. But more importantly, her mother and her eldest, younger sister the most. Those two were the main opinions she wanted to hear.
OoC;; ^-^ I'm glad you like it. I always figured Zira wasn't too happy when they first meet, but she slowly warms up to him. Repeating word, slowly xD
